GATES DEMOCRATS SELECT MARK MCINTEE FOR TOWN BOARD
“We need a strong person to run for Town Board this year, some one with the proven ability to speak up. Mark McIntee is that person.” announced Susan Swanton, Gates Democratic Committee Town Leader after the unanimous vote at the Committee meeting last night. “Gates voter dissatisfaction has never been higher, thanks to the present administration’s double digit tax increases over the past few years. Add to that voter concerns about town reassessments plus the NYS Comptroller’s unusually strong criticism of the Town’s 2006 Budget process as ‘seriously flawed’, and you have a perfect opening for Gates Democrats to win a voice on the Gates Town Board this Fall. With strong Democratic candidates for NYS Governor, for the Senate and Congress, coupled with serious voter alienation with the Republican Presidency, I foresee a major voter shift to the Democratic candidate line this November.”
“Mark is a family man, active in his church, who understands the difficulties of today’s family where both parents have to juggle work, family and community responsibilities. He speaks up at Town Board meetings and does not back down from seeking the answers he knows the voters should have. He has the added strength of name recognition from last year’s campaign. He is exactly the tough minded unflappable candidate Gates voters need on the Gates Town Board! Gates voters deserve an independent voice on the Town Board. Let us unite behind Mark McIntee to ensure that two party government returns to Gates!”
Voter registration steadily narrows the gap between the Republican party in power and the growing Democratic presence in Gates. After the best Democratic showing in Gates since 1962 in this past November’s elections, the increasingly active Democratic Committee is determined to focus all of its energy on electing Mark McIntee to the Gates Town Board this Fall.
